When I decided to get healthy a little over five years ago, the FIRST change I made to my diet and daily routine was to drop soda from my shopping list. My family was annoyed with me, because soda is CHEAPER than milk, juice and many other drink choices available at the supermarket. I can't believe it now, because it seems so far away from what I've chosen to do, but I used to consume at least 64 oz of soda EVERY DAY. Now, I can't even drink soda because it doesn't refresh or quench my thirst. And now here are the facts to validate my choice! Americans forget that soda used to be considered a DESSERT, a TREAT, not an every day drink.
