Sifu Dennis Smith
Chief Instructor of White Dragon Martial Arts Oceanside
Dennis Smith was born in Torrance, Ca. and moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Sports Medicine. In 1993, he began training in Choy Li Fut and Yang Style Tai Chi under Master Nathan Fisher. He soon rose to be one of the headquarter school's most senior instructors.
Mr. Smith has competed successfully in a variety of different national and international tournaments winning awards for kung fu and tai chi hand a weapons forms, as well as Chinese kickboxing and tai chi push hands. Over the years, he has promoted many of his own students to the level of Black Sash in both Tai-Chi and Choy Li Fut Kung Fu.
In 1996, Mr. Smith was promoted to the position of Chief instructor of the White Dragon School in Oceanside. Two years later he was elevated to the level of Sifu by Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong, to recognize his outstanding leadership of the Oceanside school. In 2009, Sifu Smith earned his 5th Degree Senior Black Sash, the highest rank in the Grandmaster's international federation.
