White Dragon Martial Arts

Sifu John Houseman
Chief Instructor of White Dragon Martial Arts Temecula

John Houseman started learning martial arts at the age of six in Caracas, Venezuela. Once his family moved to the United States in 1979, he started his training again, this time in Tae Kwon Do. Soon after graduating High School, John started to look for further training in the martial arts. After visiting several schools in the Clairemont area, he decided to look further and found the White Dragon School in La Mesa.

Over the years, John competed in many national and international martial arts competitions, winning medals for both kung fu and tai chi events. He has also won the Outstanding Instructor of the Year award, one of White Dragon's highest awards for teaching. All his accomplishments he credits towards the teachings of White Dragon Schools and to his Sifu, Master Nathan Fisher.

Almost twenty years later, John is still a student of Master Fisher's and is now running his own school in Temecula, California, which he opened in 2003. A year later, he was elevated to the level of Sifu by Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong, making him Seventh Generation Sifu in the Choy Li Fut Kung Fu lineage and Fifth Generation in the Yang Family Tai Chi lineage. Some of John's goals going forward are to continue his training with his Sifu, and to carry on the legacy of White Dragon by extending the school's reach further into Riverside County.
