Sifu Martin Ferreira
Chief Instructor of White Dragon Martial Arts El Cajon
Martin Ferreira originally started training in Greco Roman wrestling during his high school years, competing in both freestyle and Sambo style wrestling. During the early 80s, he grappled his way into the San Diego Wrestling Hall of Champions and won the 1A League Champion title.
Mr. Ferreira began training in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Yang style Tai Chi Chuan in November 1985, under White Dragon School's Founder, Master Nathan Fisher. After teaching for several years in the headquarters school in La Mesa, Ca, he was promoted to run the newly opened El Cajon School in 1989. In 1990, Sifu Ferreira competed in the Chung Hung Open International Push Hands Championship, in Taiwan, and received the Champion's Cup for the lightweight division. In 1992, Mr. Ferreira became the first student of Master Fisher's to be promoted the level of Sifu by Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong to recognize his success in running White Dragon's second school.
More recently, Sifu Ferreira was charged with creating a Joint Locking (Chin Na) program for White Dragon, which combines his vast knowledge of kung fu, tai chi and wrestling techniques into a highly effective close in fighting system based on joint manipulation.
Sifu Ferreia believes that anything is possible when you commit yourself to your goals. He continues to teach his many students by setting the example, and by dedicating himself to a life of fitness and martial arts training.
